A web page is actually made up (coded)
with normal text. Granted there are some very special ways it is
put together so it "does what it does", yet, it is still simply text.
A spam bot (program that is written to
find email addresses in web pages) scans through internet pages looking
for this:

Us</a>
The above link code will be presented in
your browser like this: E-Mail

thing. Now let's look at what a cloaked e-mail address really looks
like:

when you see it normally: E-Mail Us
Looks the same!! Click on
it and it does the same thing!!
But, you'll notice, that there isn't anything
looking like this in the code:
"YourName@YourDomainName.com"
The spam bots see the special javascript
code and keep looking for your e-mail address. When they can't find
an address, they then leave your site and go on to the next unsuspecting
web site.
Now that you have a better understanding

child?" "Do I need to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house just to
